QUESTION:
Organisations interested in a device to determine if a hunter is using lead shot,
11 Apr 2006, California United States of America
We have a device I think you would be interested in. What it does is it electronically scans a shotgun shell to determine if the shell contains LEAD SHOT. This is used by Game Officers to determine if a hunter is using LEAD. We are looking to get information out in Australia and New Zealand about our device and would like to know if you could assist us by providing us any information on who we might be able to contact in regards to our device. The unit and our customers can be seen at our web site. |

ANSWER: 01 May 2006 Dear Dennis, sorry for the delay in responding but our usual email-answering trainee volunteer has not been in for three weeks! In regard to contacts, your best bet would be to ask Laurie Levy of the Coalition Against Duck Shooting in the state of Victoria because Victoria is one state in Australia, as far as I'm aware, that has banned lead shot for duck hunting. You can contact Laurie via the form on his website at www.duck.org.au/duck_rescue_team/index.html Please let me know if you have any problems getting the names of all the relevant government agencies throughout Australia and New Zealand that regulate hunting from Laurie and I will ask our trainee email-answering volunteer to do a proper search when they come in next. I will also ask our webmaster to add a link to your site on our website - feel free to reciprocate. Congratulations on coming up with the device and I wish you all the best in successfully marketing it. Yours Sincerely Elizabeth O'Brien |
