QUESTION:
Lead poisoning prevention & lead dust management info in Vietnamese,
06 Apr 2006, New South Wales Australia
Hi Elizabeth, Thank you very much for sending us lead paint brochures. I am just wondering if you also have this information in Vietnamese. It is because we wish to share the information with a few friends and some of them cannot read English. It would be great if we could have Vietnamese brochures as well. Again, many thanks for your assistance. We really appreciate your help. Kind regards, Kim |

ANSWER: 27 Mar 2006 Dear Kim, thanks for your email. Unfortunately, not all the English documents we sent you are available in other languages; only a couple of NSW government fact sheets, two on lead poisoning prevention and one on lead dust management, are available in Vietnamese. These are online at www.mhcs.health.nsw.gov.au/health-public-affairs/mhcs/pdfs/4465/BHC-4465-VIE.pdf and www.dec.nsw.gov.au/resources/vietnam.pdf and www.mhcs.health.nsw.gov.au/health-public-affairs/mhcs/pdfs/5395/BHC-5395-VIE.pdf As far as we know, no other Australian state or federal government agency provides information on lead paint management in Vietnamese either as a print publication or online. We have around one hundred printed copies of the NSW Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) fact sheet mentioned above - "Lead Safe Fact Sheet (Vietnamese): Lead, Your Health and the Environment" -so please let me know if you have any problem printing the number you need from the DEC website and we will post them out to you. Yours Sincerely Elizabeth O'Brien |
