QUESTION:
Starting a business as a ceiling dust removalist,
13 Feb 2006, New South Wales Australia
I am interested in starting a business as a ceiling dust removalist and would appreciate your help and advice. Could I also be included in your referral list of contractors? Your advice on the type of suitable extraction machines would also be appreciated. I am in the central west of NSW. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Lloyd |

ANSWER: 13 Feb 2006 Dear Lloyd, in the absence of a state government run licencing system for ceiling dust removalists, my organisation, The LEAD Group has mentored the development of the Australian Dust Removalists Association (ADRA) and its Code of Practice so that the info service that we run [Global Lead Advice & Support Service (GLASS) - incorporating the Lead Advisory Service Australia, can then refer people to contractors that we know are following the ADRA Code of Practice. So the best thing you could do is read the Code of Practice - at www.adra.com.au/cop.html - and fulfil all its obligations and then apply to join ADRA. You need to apply to the ADRA Treasurer Doug Mill at ph 94172264, mob 0418243604 EMAIL: info@demandgroup.com.au Many of the members of ADRA have purchased their truck-mounted HEPA vac machines from Arnold Plooy of Safe-T-Vac in Arncliffe, Sydney. Arnold designs and manufactures various HEPA vacuum cleaners from 8 litre backpack - $885. 12 litre on wheels - $1042 + $250 for power lead, right up to truck-mounted HEPA vacs for ceiling dust removal. You can contact him on (02)95976544; 1800333822 FAX: (02)95973273 EMAIL: safevac@bigpond.com WEB: www.users.bigpond.com/safevac Yours Sincerely Elizabeth O'Brien |
