QUESTION: Using plants to remove lead in soil, 01 Apr 2005, Canada

How can I get rid of lead in my soil using plants?
ANSWER: 20 Apr 2005

Dear Ms. Heath,
Thank you for your enquiry and interest in our work. To answer your question on the use of plants in removing the lead in soil, our website www.lead.org.au has some articles and fact sheets that might be able to help you. See www.lead.org.au/fs/fst6.html and www.lead.org.au/lanv6n3/lan6n3-10.html. I have also attached some extra information which addresses these issues.
However, I would advise you to also consider the disposal of these plants after they've done their job. We hope you will find a way to prevent creating a greater volume of waste than the soil itself.
Regards,
Elisa Idris
