Lead in Literature
- Lead in Harry Potter
Our
"Lead in Literature" quote this issue comes from Harry Potter and the Goblet
of Fire, the fourth Harry Potter book by J.K Rowling . One of several references to
lead in the book occurs after Harry asks a girl to the end of 4th year high
school ball with him, only to discover that she's already going with his rival, and is
genuinely sorry.
"[After
Harry puts the question] It was odd; a moment before, his insides had been writhing like
snakes, but suddenly he didnt seem to have any insides at all
"[After her reply] His insides
had come back again. It felt as though they had been filled with lead in their absence.
Those of you who have been reading
Harry Potter and often wondered how to pronounce Hermione, the 4th Book in the
series gives the correct pronunciation "Hermyohnee".
