Contamination at Kira Child Care Centre,
17 Jan 2006, NSW Hi can you please tell me if the contamination at Kira Child Care Centre (Oct 2005) - the Sydney Water creche - was ever resolved? ANSWER: 01 Feb 2006 Dear Nicole In response to your question about contamination at Kira Child Care Centre, I talked to one of the persons Max Harry, Managing Maintenance, Sydney Water; Australian Water Technologies, and was informed that there was nothing at all about contamination or lead poisoning at the Kira Child Care Centre anytime before or now. Although he mentioned that there are two of these Kira Child Care Centres, one located at Alexandria and the other at Liverpool. So, he asked, if we have heard any such thing about Lead Poisoning or other contamination at the centre, and if we can find out more particularly when it was and at which centre out of the two, and provide him with some information from our side, he will definitely look into the matter seriously and let us know about it. If you would like to contact him anytime his contact numbers are 97749590 and mobile 0418641494, or if you want to give us any further information and would like us to contact him, you are most welcome. Our manager, Elizabeth O'Brien had a vague recollection of lead contamination at a child care centre near Centennial Park around 1995 and asked Prof Gulson (head of our Technical Advisory Board) if he could recall anything about it but he didn't.
