QUESTION:
Absorption of Grecian Formula thru the scalp & cleaning up after use.
19 May 2004, Massachusetts USA I use Grecian Formula and am a bit concerned for 2 reasons; 1) Can lead be absorbed into the scalp? 2) How do I clean my hands and the sink after using it... to clean off any lead residue? I'd appreciate your assistance. Thanks. |

ANSWER: 24 May 2004 Dear Mr Nikitas, It is not recommended to use Grecian Formula if you have any broken skin on your scalp and there is a product called Clean-All soap [see www.axessglass.com/Clean-All] or D-Lead hand soap [see www.axessglass.com/hmh/hmhintro.htm or www.heavymetalhygiene.com and contact info@heavymetalhygiene.com for D-Lead products] which is recommended for washing your hands after using the Grecian Formula. You can wash down the sink and taps with sugar soap or any other high phosphate detergent or if you want to go phosphate-free, then you can use D-Lead Equipment and All Purpose Cleaner [see contact details above]. If you ask your doctor for a blood lead test you will be able to determine whether you have absorbed some lead either through your skin or by the more usual pathways of ingestion or inhalation. Based on your blood lead level you can ask your doctor to advise whether you should continue to use Grecian Formula or not. I hope this helps. Yours Sincerely Elizabeth O'Brien |
