QUESTION: Limits to lead in imported ceramic ware. 01 Dec 2003, Queensland Australia

alana[at]rainbowpacific.com.au - She rang a shop where you buy white ceramic ware and paint it yourself and asked if they had a fact sheet on lead in ceramic ware and they said she'd have to come into the shop to pick up the fact sheet so she realized they were afraid of the scrutiny.

ANSWER: 02 Dec 2003

Dear Madam,

It's great to know that there are such environmentally aware and health conscious importers out there. Here's what I found on the Customs and Australian Legal Information websites on lead (and cadmium) in imported ceramic ware.

Regards
Elizabeth O'Brien
