QUESTION:

22 May 2003, West Virginia United States of America
In our town they are spreading Coal Ash on the streets when it snows. I cannot understand whey they don't realize how dangerous this is. I want to do a presentation for city council to stop them from doing this any longer. I need some resources to help convince them to stop. Please e-mail me any information you can. There is dust everywhere. Our houses and cars are covered in the ash. Dale McGill |

ANSWER: 22 May 2003 The Global Lead Advice and Support Service is a volunteer organisation that is drastically underfunded and understaffed and so while we do try to respond to all of the thousands of emails we get we often have trouble keeping up with them. If you would like Lead or Lead related information please visit the websites of the Environmental Protection Agency USA (EPAU) www.epa.gov, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) www.cdc.gov, National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) www.cdc.gov/niosh/homepage.html, Department of Housing and Urban Development (US HUD) www.hud.gov and/or contact your local Health department as they are far better equipped to handle most queries. If you are dissatisfied with the information provided by these agencies please feel free to email us again, we are sorry for this inconvenience.
