QUESTION: Pasminco Boolaroo remediation,19 May 2003,
New South Wales Australia To whom it may concern, I am a journalism student at the University of Canberra hoping to find information on the LEAD Group's involvement/exclusion from the clean up of the Pasminco site at Cockle Creek. I understand they (Pasminco) have put a remediation plan into place but are yet to appoint a contractor for this. I also understand the LEAD Group has undertaken extensive studies into the environmental impact of the smelter. ANSWER: 19 May 2003 Dear Suzanne, Could you please give references to support the contention that The LEAD Group has "undertaken extensive studies into the environmental impact of the [Pasminco Cockle Creek] smelter". The hurdle you are facing is that I have nothing to confirm that you are what you say you are and in this business, there's a risk involved in making statements to strangers.
