QUESTION: I need some information on OPTIMAX fuel.
12 Sep 2003, New South Wales Australia
To Whom it may concern I need some information on your OPTIMAX fuel. I run a modified weedeater motor in my model race boat which will do 19.000 RPM and they recommend a fuel requires a octane rating of 90+ and mixed with high performance 2stroke oil rated at 22000rpm mixed at 25/1. I mixed your OPTIMAX fuel with castrol 747 caster synthetic based oil which every competitor runs as it is the sanctioned oil for this class of boat. This is the first time I have mixed the fuel with OPTIMAX and my motor has suffered internal damage to the piston and combustion chamber. What I need to know is will your OPTIMAX fuel mix with competition 2 stroke oils as i have heard it has a detergent mixed with the fuel and i was wondering if it has broken down the oil. I have not had this problem before and i am very disappointed with the outcome. Any advice and feedback would be much appreciated as I always use shell fuel. Thank You Steve |
